The question in my mind when we arrived and looked at the fair hall was whether this was the right setting to showcase our products. The installation of our stall turned out much better than I anticipated. I was wondering whether I was ready to sell face-to-face. I had left behind the ivory towers of academic and private laboratories where the idea of meeting a customer was quite remote. To be an entrepreneur, you have to get out of your comfort zone. We have been selling online but this was something else standing across from the customer, establishing eye contact and touching them literally. This was a new learning experience. I decided early on that I was going to enjoy it and not focus on getting people to part with their cash. I set up on establishing a dialog with the people stopping by our stall about 100% Natural products, presenting what Vanga Lama stands for and listening to what they had to say. This attitude eliminated any nerves I would have had and in the end brought more sales that we have had in the past month. To answer the question at the start: it is not whether the setting is right or not, it is always about meeting potential customers one at the time and establishing a meaningful dialog. We can’t wait for our next trade fair.
